Using insurance, HSA or FSA for massage at Melrose
We do not bill insurance directly. What we do is give you a receipt with everything your insurer needs on it, so you can submit it yourself — and HSA and FSA cards are accepted at checkout.
Book and pay for your massage as usual — online, by phone, or at the studio.
Your receipt lists the date, the service, the licensed therapist and the amount — the documentation most plans ask for.
Send the receipt to your insurer the way they prefer (portal, app, or mail) and they reimburse you directly.
HSA and FSA cards
Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Account cards are readily accepted at Melrose — you can use one the same way you would any other card, at checkout or when you book online. Many plans treat therapeutic massage as an eligible expense, and some ask for a letter of medical necessity from your doctor first. If you are unsure, ask your plan administrator before your visit.
What to ask your insurance company
Coverage varies a lot by plan, so one phone call before your first visit saves the guesswork. Worth asking:
- Is massage therapy by a licensed massage therapist (LMT) a covered benefit on my plan?
- Do I need a referral or prescription from a doctor, chiropractor or physical therapist?
- Do you reimburse out-of-network or self-submitted claims, and how many visits per year?
- What do you need to see on the receipt, and where do I submit it?
Many of our clients self-bill successfully. We cannot promise what your plan will pay — that part is between you and your insurer — but we can make sure the paperwork side is not the reason a claim gets held up.
Car accident, L&I or a claim with a case number? Give us a call at (509) 460-2187 before you book so we can tell you exactly what we can and cannot document for that type of claim.
If your plan does not cover massage
Most of our regulars pay out of pocket, and the Melrose membership is built for exactly that: $95 a month includes a 60-minute massage credit, an enhancement at each visit, and member pricing on anything extra. Credits roll over while your membership is active, and HSA and FSA cards work for membership too, subject to your plan's rules.
Questions first? Call (509) 460-2187, reception is in Monday to Friday, 9:00–2:00.
